Carnation Milk

Post by Its Raining on Sat Mar 26, 2011 2:49 pm

This came as a huge shock to me just a few days ago.
The wife always buys some thick, treakle like gew that they call "cream".
I tend to dive on the carnation milk as thats what I know from back home.

How wrong was I????

Back home it is carnation evaporated milk, here it takes on various forms including a non dairy creamer!
Only when finding a tin with some English on did the full horror sink in........ nothing more than milk powder and palm oil....... the dirty filthy buggers!

Most are over 10% palm oil. Some more than 15%.
The best I found was Orchid with 5.3% palm oil.

This realisation came just days after learning that Chok Chai milk is not a product of Chok Chai farm (not since 1994).

I'm afraid to go out now!
